Curiously I got the idea for this pic because I had a earworm from the lines "A mouse took a stroll in the deep dark wood..." from "The Gruffalo". And so I just started to thought of things which stroll in deep dark woods and I stopped by Little Red Riding Hood. Maybe I'll do some more fairy tales later, because it was a lot of fun doing such a detailed picture with ink. All the time I was like: "Oh, lets do a mouse...and a snail as well!" Every time I left it for a second I had new ideas what to draw as well. ^_^ Can you find them?

I used this stock picture for reference for the wrinkles of the dress: [link]
I also used several reference photographs to look at for the animals.
Originally I wanted to give it some light brown and red colour using tea and coffee, but I don't dare to change anything at this point...maybe another time...^^"

Here you can see some steps: [link]

I see two mice, two spiders, and a snail.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I think you're right about adding color. It's beautiful as is.

Beautiful line work and detail, do you use fine liner pens?

Thank you, I used a thin quill and normal drawing ink. I used a liner just to make some quick stokes on 3 minor places (when I saw something I wanted to change while walking past it).

You're welcome. Ah right, thank you for sharing! They work really well :D I mainly use fine liners but Im going to push myself into using drawing ink. Im not very confidant with it, because I find it a little difficult to control. But I guess I just need practise!
Keep up the great work!
